Mr. Erskine attended Andrews University in Michigan, USA, where he received a Bachelors of Arts, with Honours, majoring in History. He then returned to Canada and attended Osgoode Hall Law School, where he received his LL.B.

While at Osgoode Hall, Mr. Erskine took part in the school's unique Intensive Program in Criminal Law completing his internship with the Peel Region Crown Attorney’s Office, where he assisted Crown counsel in many cases, included a high profile murder prosecution.

Mr. Erskine was called to the bar in 2002, after articling with the prominent criminal defence firm of Adler, Bytensky in Toronto. Under the skilled tutelage of Mr. Leo Adler and Mr. Boris Bytensky, he assisted in matters of varying complexity including trials, appeals, and Charter motions.

After being called to the bar, Mr. Erskine became an associate lawyer in the criminal defence firm of Worsoff, Silver in Toronto. As an associate lawyer, Mr. Erskine continued to hone his legal skills by personally conducting numerous trials and appeals of differing levels of complexity. As a lawyer with Worsoff, Silver, Mr. Erskine appeared in all levels of court throughout the Province and the GTA, including the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Mr. Erskine successfully defended clients charged with offences ranging from impaired driving, sexual assault, weapons charges and drug trafficking charges.

In 2006, Mr. Erskine decided to leave the firm of Worsoff, Silver and start his own private practice. It is as a sole practitioner criminal defence lawyer that Mr. Erskine has enjoyed his most success. He has continued to successfully defend all types of clients, both youth and adults, charged with a wide variety of offences. Mr. Erskine has obtained favourable results for clients who have been charged with minor offences such as theft, to serious charges such as attempted murder, along with every other offence in between. He has conducted numerous trials, including jury trials, where has had charges dismissed against his clients for offences such as assault, sexual assault, conspiracy, robbery, drug possession and trafficking, as well as gun and other weapons related offences. Mr. Erskine has also conducted dozens of bail hearings, securing the release of his clients for charges as serious as armed robbery, possession of firearms, and murder.

Since establishing his own practice, Mr. Erskine has primarily served clients in the Peel Region. In the 10 plus years as a sole practitioner, Mr. Erskine has developed a reputation as a highly skilled and experienced legal professional in the Region of Peel. Mr. Erskine has also represented clients in other areas of the GTA such as Orangeville, Toronto, Halton Region, York Region and Durham Region, obtaining favourable results for his clients in those jurisdictions as well.
